WATERWAYS AVENUE HOUSE | BOCA GRANDE, FLORIDA
3 BEDROOMS | 3.5 BATHROOMS | 8,015 TOTAL SQ. FT. | 4,060 CONDITIONED SQ. FT.
The Waterways Avenue house is situated on a canal-front property, offering northeastern views that overlook Gasparilla Sound. The island-style architecture blends seamlessly with the established neighborhood, just a short walk from Boca Grande's central village.
The structure is built of masonry and concrete for strength and to withstand the elements, yet a mixture of exterior cladding materials evokes a character indicative of coastal vernacular architecture.
The most unique aspects of the house are the two pyramid-shaped skylights and arrays of clerestory windows that filter natural light into the home’s multi-story foyer and great room areas. The home’s interior is light and bright, featuring white oak floors throughout most of the space. Playful splashes of color offset the otherwise neutral palette.
The exterior balcony and pool deck are surfaced with custom-made shellcrete pavers. The natural surface pairs nicely with the infinity edge pool’s moving water, which appears to fall into the canal beyond.
